Mestre Chuvisco began training Capoeira at the age of 8 in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and earned the title Mestre (master) at the age of 15. In June 7, 1977, he founded Associação de Capoeira Mandingueiros dos Palmares. He has taught thousands of students in both Brazil and the United States, and has graduated over 40 mestres of Capoeira. Guthemberg Teixeira, known as Contra-Mestre Chuvisco, has been in the Capoeira world since birth. He dedicates his time towards both movement and the musical aspects of Capoeira. Under the supervision of Mestre Chuvisco, he has also taught Capoeira movement and music since 2008. Chuvisco earned his most recent title of Contra-Mestre on October 1, 2022.

Like his brother, Spylberg Moreira, known as Contra-Mestre Corisco, has also been in the Capoeira world since the earliest days of his life. Professor Corisco focuses his training on Capoeira movements and specializes in acrobatics. Professor Corisco shares Capoeira with the wider community through after school youth and summer programs at the Amigos School in Cambridge, MA and the Sociedad Latina program each summer. Corisco earned the title of Professor on October 1, 2022.
